Remembering the past while staying connected to the present. 💚 Here, I’m guiding the audience through an EMDR-inspired exercise at Awaken the Coach Within, using two fingers as a point of focus. The purpose is to bring attention back from the past or worries about the future into the here and now. Memories may still be there, but we’re practising remembering while remaining connected to the present. I’ve built a reputation for asking people to see their pain, problems and even trauma as a potential gift. That can be a difficult message to hear when you’re still hurting. You didn’t deserve what happened, and you don’t have to be grateful for it. But I believe something valuable can grow from what you’ve been through. With time, support and healing, pain can sculpt your soul, deepen your compassion and help you discover a strength you never knew you had. Sometimes, the experience you wish you could erase becomes the reason you find your purpose, change direction or help someone else.
