September is suicide prevention month. I've talked a lot about my mental health and this month feels important to me. It gives me that reminder that I've come so far, I've changed, healed and continued living. I survived. I deserve every bit of the happiness I've fought so hard to find. I've never talked about my attempts, mainly because of the stigma around it and what darkness those memories hold. What I will say is that there was so much good left to come that I would've never seen if any of my attempts succeeded. I still have moments where I breathe in and think, "wow I can't believe I would have missed this".
