🔥 GENEROSITY WITHOUT BOUNDARIES LED TO SELF-DESTRUCTION! I came to a place in my life where I had to confront a difficult truth about myself. Sometimes the greatest threat to my peace wasn't what others demanded of me, but what I continually allowed myself to give at the expense of my own well-being. I spent much of my life being the one who showed up. The one who made a way, extended grace, offered solutions, carried burdens, and found the strength to keep pouring, even when my own vessel was running low. And while generosity was a beautiful expression of love, I had to recognize that when generosity was not governed by wisdom and boundaries, it could become a pathway to self-destruction. Not because giving was wrong, but because continually neglecting myself to meet the needs of others wasneither healthy nor sustainable. And here's where the confrontation began… I could not continue holding others accountable for crossing boundaries I had repeatedly failed to establish or maintain. That was a hard pill to swallow! Sometimes my desire to help caused me to assume responsibilities that were never mine to carry. Sometimes my compassion overshadowed my discernment. And sometimes, in trying to prevent others from experiencing discomfort, disappointment, or the consequences of their own decisions, I created unnecessary hardship for myself. I had to ask myself: Was I genuinely helping, or was I participating in a cycle that was unhealthy for both of us? Because the truth was, self-destruction didn't always begin with one catastrophic decision. Sometimes it was gradual. It was the repeated YES when wisdom was telling you NO. It was the constant emotional investment without replenishment. It was ignoring your limitations because you had become accustomed to being everyone's source of strength. It was sacrificing your peace, your health, your resources, and your priorities while convincing yourself that it was simply what love required. And eventually, what began as generosity became a pattern of self-abandonment. 📖 "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." — Proverbs 4:23 (KJV) I learned that God had entrusted me with more than the responsibility to serve others. He had also entrusted me with the responsibility to steward my own life. My time mattered. My health mattered. My peace mattered. And the assignment upon my life mattered. I could not fulfill my purpose while continually exhausting myself trying to fulfill responsibilities that belongedto someone else. This season required a different level of honesty, discipline, and accountability. I had to be willing to examine not only what others expected of me, but what I had conditioned them to expect through my own actions. Because boundaries weren't simply about what I told others they could not do. They were also about what I had to stop allowing myself to do. And that revelation changed everything! 💜 I could love without rescuing. ❤️ I could give without depleting myself. 💜 I could extend grace without enabling unhealthy patterns. ❤️ I could remain compassionate without assuming responsibility for someone else's choices. I was not closing my heart. I was learning to guard it. I was not becoming less generous. I was becoming more discerning. And I was certainly not abandoning others. I was choosing to stop abandoning myself. The greatest confrontation in that season might not have been with another person. It might have been with the patterns within me that had allowed my greatest strength, my generosity, to become a source of personal harm. And if I was serious about transformation, I had to be willing to confront those patterns, take responsibility for my choices, and make the necessary changes. Because I had come too far, endured too much, and fought too hard to regain my voice, my identity, and my peace only to lose myself through unchecked generosity. Generosity was a gift. Boundaries were wisdom. And learning the difference was essential to preserving the person God created
