Everything is going to be alright IF you get yearly skin checks to keep track of all your beauty marks and moles! Though many people know of Bob Marley, few know that he passed from skin cancer. Anyone can develop skin cancer, so please make sure to get yearly skin checks to keep yourself safe. #melanoma #cancersucks #womeninstem #bobmarley #melanomaawareness

Finding out zebrafish are the reason I have a safer space at work was not on my 2026 bingo card! But as soon as I learned about Dr. Nancy Hopkins, I knew I had to share her story! As a young female scientist, it means everything to know that people like Dr. Hopkins fought - with a measuring tape and a piece of paper - so that l'd have a lab to walk into at all. If you'd like to learn more about her story, watch "Picture a Scientist." Fair warning: it's a heavy watch. #womeninstem #womeninscience #zebrafish #womeninstem

These "jellyfish" are actually known as hydrozoan since they aren't from the sea but they are sooo similar! They are found all over the world except for Antarctica, and typically appear in freshwater during the summer! They can be difficult to track and very difficult to keep in a lab but the Hopewell quarry has been seeing them for years! Thanks for letting us come by and collect! We hope to use these samples to extract DNA to learn more about them! We also hope to figure out what they eat! There are still a ton of unanswered questions about them so let's get to work! #jellyfish #freshwater #biology #scientist
