I am 1 in 8. But I am so much more than a statistic. I am a believer. A wife. A mother. A sister. A teacher. A friend. A survivor. As we enter Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’ll see pink everywhere. Pink ribbons. Pink products. Pink posts. But breast cancer is more than a month. More than a color. And the women behind those statistics are so much more than numbers on a page. We are lives interrupted. Families changed. Bodies scarred. Prayers whispered. Battles fought. We are fear and faith. Grief and gratitude. Strength we never asked to have. So wear the pink. Share the statistics. Spread awareness. But please remember the women behind them. 🎀 I am 1 in 8. But my story could never fit inside a statistic. #breastcancerawarenessmonth #breastcancerawarness #breastcancer #breastcancersurvivor #breastcancerin30s

My pathology report is back following my bilateral mastectomy for triple negative breast cancer grade 3… I can’t thank you all enough for lifting my family up in prayer. I pray to be in lifelong remission and raise my sweet boys. I love you all! Go live today and hug your people. #breastcancer #cancerjourney #greatnews #tiktokcommunity #momma

I exercise for the girl who couldn’t get out of bed during treatment. For the version of me whose body was exhausted from simply trying to survive. For the cancer patient sitting in an infusion chair today, wondering if they’ll ever feel like themselves again. And for the woman I am now, who gets to move her body, get stronger, sweat, and be tired for an entirely different reason. 🤍 There is research behind the benefits of physical activity before and after a breast cancer diagnosis, but for me, it’s also deeply personal. I remember when getting through the day felt like a workout. So now, when I get to choose to move my body, I try not to take that privilege for granted. 🎀 #BreastCancerSurvivor #BreastCancerAwareness #LifeAfterCancer #CancerSurvivor #BreastCancerDiaries

Breast Cancer Awareness Diaries: Postage Stamps With Purpose 🎀📬 I went to the post office on a mission to find the Breast Cancer Research Stamp and officially secured TWO sheets. 🙌🏼 These stamps cost a little more than regular postage, with the additional proceeds helping fund breast cancer research through the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program. It’s such a small change to something many of us already buy, but collectively, these stamps have helped raise nearly $100 MILLION for breast cancer research since they were introduced. 🤯🎀 So yes, I will absolutely be mailing everything with my little breast cancer stamps now. 😂💌 #BreastCancerAwareness #BreastCancerResearch #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancerSurvivor #BreastCancerDiaries

There are places you visit, and then there are places you can’t stop thinking about. 🏔️🤍 Telluride, Colorado, you are something special. The mountain views, the little downtown streets, the crisp air, and that feeling of being completely surrounded by beauty. Already wondering when we can go back. #TellurideColorado #Telluride #ColoradoTravel #ColoradoMountains #MountainTown

THIS is the kind of Breast Cancer Awareness Month information I want more people to know about. 🎀 Researchers at UMass Amherst are studying breast milk to better understand breast cancer risk and explore whether it could someday help with earlier detection. They’re even currently recruiting certain breastfeeding women to donate milk for research. And here’s another fact that blew my mind: the Breast Cancer Research Stamp helps fund the federal research program that has supported this work. Since 1998, the stamp has raised nearly $100 MILLION for breast cancer research. 🎀📬 Research matters. Funding matters. And sometimes supporting breast cancer research can be as simple as choosing a different stamp. 🤍 #BreastCancerAwareness #BreastCancerResearch #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancerSurvivor #BreastCancerDiaries

If there is one thing I hope you take away from my story this month, it’s this: know your normal and pay attention when something changes. If you find a new lump or notice something different about your breast, call your doctor and have it checked. Most breast lumps are NOT cancer, but you cannot determine what a lump is just by how it feels. And please don’t wait for your next routine mammogram if you’ve found something new. Your doctor may recommend a clinical exam and additional imaging, such as a diagnostic mammogram or ultrasound, and sometimes a biopsy is needed to know for sure what an abnormal area is. Advocate for yourself. Ask questions. Follow up. And if something feels different in your body, you are never wasting anyone’s time by getting it checked. 🤍 Awareness isn’t meant to make us afraid of our bodies. It’s meant to help us know them well enough to recognize when something has changed. 🎀 #BreastCancerAwareness #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancerSurvivor #BreastCancerDiaries #KnowYourNormal

Episode 1 of Breast Cancer Awareness Diaries with Meg 🎀 Before starting chemo, I was scared. It wasn’t a decision I made lightly. I spent weeks asking questions, learning everything I could, talking with my doctors, and deciding what felt right for me and my family. Then, after just TWO infusions, my scans showed that my tumor was already shrinking significantly. 🥹 I could feel the difference, but seeing the evidence brought a kind of relief I can’t even describe. And because I married a hot, nerdy engineer, my husband took it one step further and made a CAD model showing my tumor before chemo vs. after those first two treatments. 😂🤓 Seeing that comparison was the moment I thought, “Okay. I made the right decision for me.” Every cancer and every person is different, and treatment decisions deserve informed conversations with your medical team. I’m simply sharing the thing I desperately needed when I was standing at the beginning of all of this scared out of my mind: Hope. 🤍 Sometimes treatment can start doing its job sooner than you think. 🎀 #BreastCancerAwareness #BreastCancerDiaries #BreastCancerSupport #Chemo #BreastCancerSurvivor

October 8, 2024. 🎀 Jenna Fischer shared her breast cancer diagnosis for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and her post was the push I needed to finally make an appointment to have the lump in my breast checked. One month later, I would receive my own breast cancer diagnosis. I’ve thought about that post so many times since. Jenna’s decision to share her story made a difference in my life, and I hope that by sharing my story, I can do the same for someone else. 🤍 So, welcome to my Breast Cancer Awareness Diaries. 🎀 This month I’ll be sharing the things I wish someone had told me, information I wish I’d known, lighthearted moments, dark humor highly possible 💀😂, and most importantly, a whole lot of hope. Because awareness matters. Sharing our stories matters. And if you’re walking through this right now, I want this to be a little corner of the internet that reminds you that you are not alone. 🤍 #BreastCancerAwareness #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancerSurvivor #BreastCancerDiaries #BreastCancerSupport
