Mom truths. summer is rough and feels near impossible to have alone time to get things done. I love the quietness of night time when i can actually do projects, sewing, or binge watch tv. #summerbreak #arizonasummer #nightowl #momsoftiktok #momlife #sewingtiktok #quilting #sewingproject #craftymoms

Growing up, I spent countless summers with my grandma, learning to quilt and utilize my creative outlet. Earlier this year, I spent many days and hours at the hospital with her, hoping she would heal from the pneumonia that eventually took her life. To say I’ve been devastated is an understatement. As I reflected on memories of her, I decided I should learn to quilt again to carry on her legacy. After watching countless tutorials on free motion quilting, and looking through multiple patterns, I decided to create this blanket for my sons teacher to celebrate her first kindergarten class. I may have set the bar a little high for future teachers 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ but it was well worth it. Also, this is proof that anyone can learn the art of quilting and free motion quilting on a standard machine. I completed this quilt on my @Janome America sewing machine! For the kids self portraits, they drew a picture with marker and I copied them onto Iron on transfer paper. #freemotionquilting #teacherappreciationgift #colorfulquilt #jellyrollquilt #teachergift #quilting #sewingdiy #diyproject #createandappreciate #creative #diyideas

#ad Using my @Cricut Maker 3, it was so easy to create this city themed blanket for my new baby nephew! With countless images to choose from in Cricut Design Space, I was able to create a little replica of the town he’s being named after. There are many methods one can use to create their own city car track blanket, using either felt or a variety of materials that the Maker 3 can cut flawlessly. I personally used fabric and sewed the appliqué pieces onto the blanket. Additionally, while some sewing machines can be used to add lettering to buildings, I personalized store names using Iron On Vinyl and the Cricut EasyPress Mini. Although the entire process of making a baby quilt is tedious and took many hours, using these little Cricut shortcuts made it easier than ever to create a personalized blanket to be cherished forever. #cricutmade #cricutblanket #babyblanket #babyquilt #quiltingapplique #cricutprojects #giftideas #occasion #specialoccasion
