🇺🇸 LABOR DAY — MORE THAN A DAY OFF Today we enjoy BBQs, beaches, boats, sales and an extra day to relax—but Labor Day represents something much bigger. It honors the workers who came before us. The men, women and even children who endured dangerously long hours, hazardous working conditions and little protection. Workers organized, marched and fought for safer workplaces, reasonable hours, fair treatment and dignity on the job. Some lost their jobs. Some were injured. Some even lost their lives. Their courage helped shape many of the workplace protections we benefit from today. Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894, but the fight for workers’ rights began long before then. So today, while we celebrate, let’s also remember why we celebrate. And on a personal note, this photo reminds me how fortunate I am. I don’t just have a job—I get to “labor” with some of the BEST humans. ❤️ People who work hard, care deeply, support one another and make a difference in the lives of others. I’m grateful for the work we do, but even more grateful for the people I get to do it with. Today I honor those who came before us, those who continue to work hard every day, and this incredible team I’m blessed to call mine. Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸 @Martin Bionics #LaborDay #LaborDayHistory #GratefulForMyTeam #WorkFamily #BestHumans

Asked ChatGBT to create four versions of me: who I think I am, who strangers think I am, who the people closest to me probably see and the real me hidden inside no one knows about. I think it is close on a lot of it…I chose the 4 pics I liked for each point. Challenge you to do your own!

Last week, I raised my height to 4’8” on my prosthetics. Today, I made the decision to bring myself back down to 4’4””. And you know what? That’s progress. I went to the Martin Bionics Tampa office to get adjusted by Jack and Owen. It’s pretty nice working with a company that can fix your legs up and help you find what works best for your body. They also adjusted my arm crutches, lowering them to the right height for me. As a paraplegic bilateral above-knee amputee, being taller isn’t necessarily better. I need to think about my core balance, stability, safety, and confidence with every step I take. At 5’6”, I learned something. I could be that tall—but that doesn’t mean it was the best height for me. At 5’2”, my center of gravity is lower, I feel more stable, and I can focus on improving the quality of my walking instead of fighting to stay balanced. Sometimes progress means adding weight. Sometimes it means taking weight off. Sometimes it means standing taller. And sometimes… progress means lowering yourself a few inches so you can move forward with confidence. My goal has never been to be the tallest version of myself. My goal is to be the strongest, safest, most mobile version of myself. One adjustment. One lesson. One step at a time. MOBILITY MATTERS. 💪🦿🦿@Martin Bionics #BilateralAboveKneeAmputee #BAKA #Paraplegic #AmputeeStrong #MobilityMatters
