Say “books” to check out these decodable books that help kids read books that are building their phonics skills as they go! 🌟 What do we do when a child is reading and guessing the word? ➡️ Have them slow down and read each sound in the word. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Ahhh - you now figure out that they’re reading words that they don’t know the individual sounds yet. So you either: 1️⃣ Put the book down and find a book that correlates to the phonics patterns their learning (this is what I created my decodable books). 2️⃣ They know most of the sounds but are missing one part like /sh/. I would take out a whiteboard or prompt them with - When “s” and “h” is together, what sound do they spell? Shhh! Now let’s read this word again!
