I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on where I’m at in my life / career & I’ve realised it’s time to let it go. These last few months have been SO hard, but I’ve reached a point where I simply don’t want to spend my time in this environment anymore. Some people will disagree & that’s okay. This is my opinion, my experience & ultimately my choice. I just want to train like an animal 💯 Post BIG lifts… I’m talking world-class numbers / not just mediocre Australian standards… Enjoy the gym 💪 Help lifters get stronger & show them that this sport can offer so much more than competing in an environment where people smile to your face & talk behind your back 🤗 #Toxic I want to spend my time building something positive, surrounding myself with good people & actually enjoying what I do. So if that means no longer having a club under my name / no more coaching at sanctioned competitions / attending events associated with those people… Then so be it 👊 I’m not going to fake a smile, pretend everything is fine or be nice to people who I know don’t respect me. I respect myself too much for that. I gave this sport everything I had. I tried to make it better for the right reasons & I can walk away knowing I did everything in my power. So I’m leaving on my terms with my head held high. No fake smiles. No politics. No bullshit. Just training HARD hitting big lifts & coaching my lifters to more than just a registered weightlifter… If you want to compete every weekend- I’m not the coach for you- go somewhere else. But if you actually value your health / fitness & want to be the strongest version of yourself WITHOUT competing. I’m here loud & proud 💪 Cheers to this new chapter & building something better Weightlifting can have its drama. I’ll take snatching 170kg any day of the week over meaningless bitching👊 #Weightlifting
190kg / 420lbs 195kg / 430lbs C&J attempts on a Saturday night 9th session of the week I miss training this hard & I’m excited to get back into this shape & more some in the near future 😊 #weightlifting #olympian #nevergiveup

THE IDEAL OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING PHYSIQUE This is what an ideal weightlifting physique looks like IMO ✅ Strong forearms / biceps & triceps , we hook grip sooooo much! ✅ Visible abs & serratus - A strong trunk & good bracing is ideal for Oly lifting ✅ 10-15% body fat- An athletic & strong physique with enough body fat to support injury reduction + demands of our sport 💪 we aren’t stepping on the Olympia stage BUT that doesn’t mean we can be Fat F**ks 😊 ✅ Minimal chest development- I’ll stand on this 👊Excessive pec development restricts overhead stability & front rack mobility IMO - if you want to debate me in comments that fine but if expect you to snatch at least 150kg & have some weightlifting experience lol You don’t need to bench press to be a great weightlifter. ✅ Strong & capped shoulders 🫡 Quality muscle around the front / lateral especially rear delt development for overhead stability👊 ✅ Big traps & a dense lower back- this is built from years of heavy squats & pulls. The foundation of our sport 🏋🏻♂️ ✅ A thick & strong waist- We need a strong core for bracing / stability. We’re weightlifters, not physique competitors 🤩 ✅ V-shaped upper back- that classic “DORITO” developed through years of HEAVY OLY LIFTING The goal isn’t to look like a bodybuilder. Let’s not get that mistaken… It’s to build a body that can perform but also endure the demands of the sport 🤝 Want to look good / feel good AND be strong? I currently have 2 spots available for online coaching. DM me or click the link in bio to enquire. #weightlifting #olympian #physique
“You only lose in life when you don’t try something challenging” 👊💪 162kg ❌ 163kg ❌ 165kg ❌ I’ve lost more than I’ve succeeded in this sport. That’s even an understatement to what’s been happening lately. Just smile & keep trying 💪 @Uplift Lifting Club | WL #weightlifting #olympian #nevergiveup
The Train Track Cue 🚞🚞 If you struggle with your footwork in the jerk, it may be because your base of support is too narrow. Meaning - you’re gonna feel super wobbly, both in the catch and whilst recovering We like to tell our lifters to get off the train tracks - meaning make your split jerk wide enough that you can stabilise and hold for long enough to recover. You’ll see in this video (Isabel actually struggles to demonstrate a narrow split jerk 😂) that when you’re too narrow and short with your jerk, you’ll feel super uncomfortable and the bar will move you around. We’ve added some examples of our lifters having jerks where they stayed in the train tracks. 🛤️ When you focus on getting off the train tracks, getting your front foot out more wider and your back leg a bit more diagonal, you have a larger amount of space to push up into the bar and stabilise that split. So next time you feel like your jerk is too short and you’re feeling claustrophobic, get off the train tracks!! #weightlifting #technique #advice #crossfit
So you listen to Coach Lorenzi, not Doctor Lorenzi — and actually implement isometrics into your training. Here’s what we recommend: Start with 2–3 sets before your session. Don’t go from doing zero rehab work to suddenly doing an hour of it every day. We know you want to get better FAST, but your body doesn’t always work on your timeline. Tendons are funny creatures. Sometimes they take a little longer than average to settle down and rebuild capacity. Our goal isn’t to have our lifters completely pain-free before they train. We want to see their pain threshold and movement gradually improve over time. We generally don’t want our lifters training above 4/10 pain. But if there’s some pain AND the movement is improving, you can still be making progress. So, if you wake up with cranky knees: Listen to Coach Lorenzi, not Doctor Lorenzi. Add some isometrics. Avoid movements that push your pain above 4/10. Gradually reload the joint. Build your tolerance back up. Rather than staying in bed for six weeks waiting for your knees to magically feel perfect. Hands up if you’ve ever told a doctor about your sport and been told to just stop training? If you train regularly, you’ve probably experienced an ache or pain that seems to come out of nowhere. The good news? Pain doesn’t always mean you’ve injured something. Your tendons are strong pieces of connective tissue that connect your muscles to your bones. They help transfer the force you create when you squat, jump, run, lift or move. The problem can happen when the amount of load you put through them changes too quickly. For example: You haven’t trained for a few weeks → suddenly hit a big session → your tendon gets cranky. OR You’ve been training consistently → feel a little pain → stop training completely for 6 weeks → return to your normal training → your tendon gets cranky again. Your body needs to gradually build its tolerance to the amount of work you’re asking it to do. That’s where LOAD MANAGEMENT comes in. Instead of automatically stopping everything, we can often modify the amount of load, gradually build it back up and use exercises such as isometrics to help load the tendon in a controlled way. Save this post and follow us for Part 2: Load Management, where we’ll explain how to manage training when something starts hurting. #weightlifting #injury #rehab #isometrics
203kg / 447 lbs C&J attempt 💪 Legs were pretty weak here 😂 I don’t think I front squatted anything more than 180 kg leading into this session aha 😤 Time to re-build 🤝💪 #weightlifting #olympian #nevergiveup
Aus Fitness Expo Games 💪 Just a 140kg snatch & 180kg clean & jerk. I’ve been coming back from a pretty bad rib / shoulder injury from powerlifting training, which has set me back more than I expected. This was actually my first week back to any form of strength training after essentially 6 weeks with no barbell work… So I’m pretty happy to be able to maintain a 140/180 with pretty much zero Olympic lifting or strength training 🤓 My shoulder is still not 100% & I’ve really struggled this week with anything in an overhead capacity, especially snatching / jerks. But you know what the funny thing is - This is essentially 90% of my IRM for the Olympic lifts or close to it. Which shows you don’t really lose much strength with time off- at least less 1 & a half months. I guess 3+ months would be a different story lol 😂 What you do lose is the engine, what I mean by that is your ability to handle volume & hit heavy percentage sets & repetitions which I simply cannot right now. I tried 190 kg clean and jerk after this & I couldn’t even dead lift it 🤣🤷♀️ That’s how fatigued I was. So I guess the point I’m trying to make is that getting back into training isn’t necessarily about rebuilding your strength from scratch. It’s about rebuilding your capacity to use that strength. lightweights for the next few months with lots of volume to build that engine back 😈 @uplift.wl Huge thanks to the team at Expo Games! Especially Scotty for inviting myself / my partner to the event! SPONSORS: @BSc Supplements @Uplift Lifting Club | WL @ SPINE SUIT #weightlifting #180kg #olympian #nevergiveup
Something a bit different on my page… I’ve been following this case meticulously for the last few months as I find it personally very interesting. Here’s my take as a male because I truely believe gender stereotyping has made this a massive moral issue. The Lindsay Clancy case is an incredibly difficult moral dilemma, not just around accountability / punishment, but how we understand mental illness & how differently we can perceive similar actions depending on gender. Would we view the situation differently if the perpetrator were male? How do we compare postpartum psychosis / depression with things like CTE, substance use or steroid use in men? The Chris Benoit case is another example that raises similar questions as mentioned. I don’t have a simple “right” or “wrong” answer. This is simply my personal perspective on a deeply complex issue & an attempt to question some of the stereotypes / double standards that can influence how we view this case. At the end of the day… 3 innocent children are no longer here. There last sight of their protecter was utter fear & terror. Everyone can sympathise with that. But who’s to blame? I really don’t know 🤷 I hate to say it but, I’ve got to take a seat on the fence on this one. It’s too complicated to give a direct Yes or No. What do y’all think 💭❓ COMMENT BELOW ⬇️ #mentalhealth
16 years old - 27 years old. 11 years of transformation. 16 years old 78kg / 170lbs BW 🏉 Rugby training 4x/week 🏋️ 3 years of strength training experience 🔄 Constantly experimenting with bodybuilding, powerlifting, CrossFit, cardio & everything in between 🍕 Extremely inconsistent with nutrition ❌ Very little knowledge or understanding of nutrition 🧠 Disordered eating & body image issues 📱 Forming my beliefs about nutrition based on things I read online 🏃♂️ 1 hour of cardio every day because I genuinely believed “strength training makes you fat and bulky.” VS. 27 years old 88kg / 193lbs BW 🏋️ Olympic weightlifting 7–9x/week 💪 12+ years of training experience 📈 Consistent strength training for over a decade 🥗 A clear & consistent nutritional approach for 10+ years 🧠 Highly educated on the nutritional requirements for MY body ❤️ Zero cardiovascular training The biggest difference wasn’t one clear thing… It was learning how to train, how to eat & staying consistent long enough to actually see what happens. 11 years later, I’m 10kg heavier, significantly stronger & in a completely different place physically and mentally. Stop chasing what someone on the internet tells you should work. Learn your body Train consistently Eat appropriately BE PATIENT 💪 #weightlifting #physique #transformation
