I remember the appointment in Boston where my hematologist told me that the bone marrow transplant was my only remaining option like it was yesterday. I remember the feeling of my heart dropping into my gut and the tears welling in my eyes when this was confirmed by my City of Hope doctor. I'm scared and I feel like l'm going into this procedure kicking and screaming, but I know that means I won't go down without the fight of my life. The road to this has already been long and exhausting and this is sure to be the biggest obstacle yet, but if it gives me a shot at remission and getting back the life I lost at just 16, l'm going to brave it all as best I can. Thank you all for the support you've offered through all of this, finding this online community has been such a lifeline for me. 🧡
