i genuinely do not understand how anyone can look at the AfD and think “yes, this is the political direction germany needs.” i’m tired of watching racism get repackaged as “concern.” i’m tired of xenophobia being dressed up as “protecting our culture.” i’m tired of people pretending that cruelty becomes respectable just because it is written into a party programme and repeated loudly enough. you can talk about immigration. you can talk about integration. you can talk about problems in the country. you can criticize the government. you can demand better policies. none of that requires turning entire groups of human beings into scapegoats. and that is exactly what makes the AfD so deeply disturbing to me. it is not simply “another conservative party” that i happen to disagree with. there are political disagreements, and then there are fundamental questions about what kind of society we actually want to live in. i want a germany where your surname, religion, skin colour, family background, or the country your parents came from does not determine how much you belong. i want a germany where being patriotic does not mean being hostile to everyone who is different. i want a germany where history is remembered honestly instead of being minimized, romanticized, or treated like an embarrassing inconvenience. and no, saying “but not every AfD voter is a nazi” does not magically make every criticism of the party invalid. obviously people have different reasons for voting for political parties. obviously not everyone who supports the AfD holds the same beliefs. but that does not mean we have to ignore the rhetoric, the positions, the controversies, or the consequences of normalizing certain ideas. there are things that should never become normal just because they are repeated often enough. dehumanizing people should not be normal. racism should not be normal. scapegoating minorities should not be normal. treating migration as an explanation for every problem should not be normal. flirting with authoritarian ideas should not be normal. making people feel like they need to prove that they deserve to belong in their own country should not be normal. and honestly? i refuse to accept the argument that opposing this is somehow “extreme.” if defending human dignity is extreme, then maybe the problem is not the people defending it. germany has a history that makes this conversation especially serious. “never again” is not supposed to be a decorative phrase that gets pulled out for commemorative speeches and forgotten afterward. democracy is not something you appreciate only when it is convenient. tolerance does not mean tolerating the destruction of tolerance itself. you can love germany without hating foreigners. you can care about your country without believing other people are less worthy of belonging. you can want safer streets without blaming entire populations. you can want functioning borders without turning human beings into statistics. you can be proud of where you come from without teaching yourself that everyone else is the enemy. those things are not contradictions. so yes, i will continue to criticize the AfD. loudly. unapologetically. because political apathy is not neutrality when people's rights and dignity are involved. i don't want a germany built on fear, exclusion, resentment and nostalgia for an imagined past. i want a germany built on democracy, dignity, freedom, responsibility, solidarity and the simple idea that human beings do not become less human because they were born somewhere else. and if that is something worth being angry about, then i am perfectly fine with being angry. never again doesn't mean “never again, but only when it's politically convenient.” never again means never again. #germany #afd #deutschland #humanity #menschheit @ʀɪʀɪ ⭐️ @nora @ʰᵏ⁹hyperstellarᴼᴱ🎸 @chels ྀི @Liv @𝑨𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆✮ @KIMM1CH @midnight.9723 @Baveria.42 ♟️🎧 ▕⃝⃤ ⚡︎ @n
