Hi friends :) I DROPPED MY FIRST EP 🥳🎸 “Something of that Nature” is my coming-of-age story, about the experiences that have shaped me into what feels like real adulthood. I consider myself an explorer at heart. I cultivate my identity and sense of self through my experiences with my environment. I try to approach everything in my life with a sense of curiosity: “Why is this happening now?” “What is this reflecting back to me about myself?” And in no way do I have it fully figured out. But this project is me taking up space and allowing myself to fully commit to a vision, even as I’m still “forming.” We’re always unfolding and emerging. And I want to create a space where people feel excited to show up and embrace their authentic, raw, imperfect, evolving selves. I have a long list of people to thank for helping me bring this EP to life. Thank you to @by_anthonylorenzo for shooting these insanely beautiful images for the cover art. Anthony’s commitment to a vision is something I deeply admire. This man BUILT ME A DOOR and borrowed his dad’s truck so that we could get the perfect shot. Also thank you so much to Thang Nguyen and Reese Mitchell for helping set the door up during the shoot! Thank you to my dear dear Reese Mitchell for being my number 1 champion and cowriting with me throughout the project. He also produced “Overstay” entirely by himself. Thank you to @mayo_noise for going above and beyond on every song we collaborated on. Ethan’s got an incredible sense of musicality and he even added the beautiful synth and electric guitar parts in “Grown Up.” Thank you to Garrett Thorn for the beautiful bass parts you recorded for “Bring Us Down” and “Grown Up.” I was so obsessed with his work, that as soon as I started playing bass, the first thing I wanted to learn was “Bring Us Down.” Thank you to Matt Qualls for lending your incredible ear and mixing and mastering TO THE GODS. You have really helped me cultivate my sound! And thank you to Dane Giordano and Logan Schmitz for your stunning, ethereal mix/master on “Fresh Air.” It’s on repeat rn.
