Here's how lights and shadows affects a painting: ⠀ 🌗 Mood and Atmosphere. The distribution of lights and shadows contributes to the mood of the painting. Well-balanced contrasts can evoke a range of emotions, from drama and intensity to serenity and calmness. ⠀ 🌊 Depth and Dimension. Shadows are instrumental in creating the illusion of three-dimensionality on a two-dimensional canvas. They add depth to objects, making them appear solid and grounded in space. Artists use shadows to convey the form and structure of their subjects. ⠀ 👀 Focus and Emphasis. Manipulating the balance of lights and shadows allows artists to control the viewer's focus. Bright highlights and deep shadows can draw attention to specific areas of the painting, guiding the viewer's eye to important details. ⠀ 📖 Narrative and Storytelling. Lights and shadows can be used to tell a story within the painting. The direction of light and the placement of shadows can create a sense of time, setting, and atmosphere, enhancing the narrative quality of the artwork. ⠀ In essence, the balance of lights and shadows is an integral aspect of painting that allows artists to sculpt the visual experience, infusing their creations with emotion, depth, and a captivating sense of atmosphere. Finishing a painting can bring a mix of feelings. There's a little sadness, like saying goodbye to a friend. Each brushstroke was a piece of me, and when it's done, it's like closing a chapter 👋 ⠀ But, in that sadness, there's also pride. The finished painting tells a story — a snapshot of my feelings and ideas. It's like turning the page in my artistic journey. ⠀ So, if you've ever felt a bit blue when finishing a painting, you're not alone. It's part of the artist's journey. Cherish the memories in each stroke, and know that the next blank canvas is a chance for a new adventure 👩‍🎨 #KatyaStr_video #paintingemotions #artjourney #finishedartwork #artistictales #canvasclosure #artisticadventure #expressiveart #brushstrokesofemotion #artandfeelings #creatingstories #paintingcompletion #artistssentiment #artisticpride #newcanvaswaiting #simplejoysinart
