Been a while since I did any kind of posting or talking to the camera because I’ve had an active infection for what feels like 20 million years, and if you have Multiple Sclerosis you’ll know what affect that has on our existing symptoms 🙃🫠. Chuck in a swollen face, a whole load of excruciating pain, back to back antibiotics and basically just existing because the fatigue is something ELSE… BUT really want to get back to yapping about all things chronic illness and disability related, cause, well, your gal always has a lot to say 🥲❤️ Anyway I’m getting a lot closer to a date for surgery on my face so I have emerged to gift the world with some yap. Here’s this morning’s ‘unmasked in the morning’, inspired by the TWD and the legend that is Carl Grimes 🙏🏻🧡 #hEDS #MS #POTS #TWD

For ages I wasn’t being believed I had infection in my mouth/face. After having l0ng c0v!d I’ve had non stop problems with my teeth. I had a huge flare up of trigeminal nerve irritation after a root canal and I was adamant it wasn’t just random neurological pain, and/or trigeminal neuralgia due to my MS… It’s been like 10 months of on and off fighting to be believed and taken seriously, and sometimes having to practically beg for antibiotics, whilst still being told they don’t think it’s infected. Then my face swells up - was told it was muscle hypertrophy from clenching 🫠. ‘No signs of infection’… (the one sided swelling is probably a sign but sure), also I just know my body - my Multiple Sclerosis lets me know when I’ve got an infection. For me it usually starts with a stiff right hand and foot, but then if it’s left untreated it will develop into spasms all over, bladder will get worse, nerve pain all down one side, blurred vision, changes in mood (anger/euphoria/turning into a comedian), mobility gets significantly worse, and then if it’s left too long I start to experience delirium/confusion and my speech goes weird 🙃 It was confirmed another tooth was, in fact, infected like I’d been saying for months. & also I have a severely impacted unerupted wisdom tooth that’s interacting with my sinus. Because of my abnormal anatomy, (thank you hEDS) and cocktail of fun illnesses, it was deemed unsafe to have the surgery under sedation so I need to be put under general anaesthetic - which means having to wait for theatre space. Found out this morning there is space in just under 3 weeks time, (privately may I add, for full transparency - NHS is a minimum 12 month wait), but currently waiting to hear back about what to do about the antibiotic situation because I’m getting worse day by day. So much to this story/saga and I’m struggling to type and feel like I’m not making much sense, but basically MS + infection = not fun. Spent 2 years fighting for spinal surgery that finally got me out of excruciating pain, to then be thrown immediately into all of this. I’m hoping and praying the surgery finally removes the source, I can heal, FINALLY get a chance to rehab my spine, get some basic strength back again, and also just get back to living my best little chronic illness hot girl life ✌🏼🧡 I don’t even know my own baseline anymore, but it’s definitely not this 🥲🩷 #ms #hEDS #pots
