Since 2022, I have had the honour of working with @pisfcc, a group of students from the Pacific Islands who refused to accept that climate change would wipe out their homes, their land and their futures — and took that fight all the way to the world’s highest court. In December, I travelled to The Hague to support them during the ICJ hearings. I listened to the stories, interviewed activists from frontline communities and witnessed something that felt historic — young people from the most affected places demanding justice on a global stage. This ICJ ruling could set a legal precedent that links climate change with human rights and give frontline communities a real tool to hold governments and polluters who have failed them accountable. So much has already been lost. This ruling is a chance to name what’s owed.
