Egyptian geese appreciation post! These beautiful geese live on farmland, wetlands and grasslands, feeding on grass and seeds. They were first introduced to ornamental ponds, but escaped into the wild where they are now successfully breeding! #Egyptiangeese @rspbengland First three pictures taken at London Wetland Centre and last photo taken at Stoke Poges Memorial Gardens. Canon R7 zoom lens 300-800mm. #canon #canonr7

Rock Dove/ Feral Pigeon appreciation post! I have heard people say many times that they despise pigeons. I never understand how people can love some animals and hate others! These birds are just as worthy of attention as the Robin that comes to your garden. Just look at the beauty of the iridescent feathers! #rockdove #feralpigeon #pigeon #rspb Rock doves/ Feral pigeons are the same species as homing pigeons which were selectively bed during the Second World War for their excellent navigation skills, carrying post which provided a great source of communication and saved lives- how can you hate that! You will often see Feral Pigeons in towns and cities, often under bridges or on roofs- these mimic their natural environment and preference of nesting on rocky cliff ledges. Most birds you see are Feral pigeons as true wild Rock doves can be seen at the North and West Coasts of Scotland and offshore islands of Ireland.
