Incident Report: 2025 Species: Variegated Monstera Peru Cause of injury: Improper post-watering shelf placement and failure to maintain light clearance. Outcome: Leaf lost. Stem spared. Caregiver (me) bedridden but cooperative. Next steps: Comeback season pending. I cannot believe that I just through it back into the cabinet haphazardly😩 My poor child #plantsoftiktok #growlight #fyp

Tissue culture Thai Con, new substrate trial, experiment era ✌️🌿 What is PON? A mineral based, soilless substrate made from pumice, lava rock, and zeolite. It holds moisture without staying wet, keeps oxygen high at the root zone, and lowers the risk of overwatering stress. Why it’s a lifesaver for variegated Monsteras: Variegated Monsteras like Thai Constellation are more prone to root rot because they have less chlorophyll and slower energy production, meaning their roots don’t dry out as fast. A substrate that stays too wet can take them out quick and PON eliminates that soggy soil danger for a lot of people. Why Alocasias thrive in it too: They love consistent moisture + high airflow, and PON delivers both. Stronger roots, less stress, happier corms. Why I DON’T like Fluval Stratum for established plants: I love it for propagation and corm boxes, but not for long term plantings because: •It breaks down over time •The granules turn soft and compact that reduces root airflow and for energy limited plants like variegated Monsteras, that slow dry down + compaction can raise rot risk instead of preventing it. So for me it’s simple: Stratum = starter & propagation era PON = long-term root-saving era Care is easy: You don’t water like traditional soil, you fill the reservoir and you flush occasionally to prevent buildup. That’s it. No breakdown. No drama. Just an occasional cleanse. Not failing. Just adjusting. Growth point still loading… comeback arc pending 👑🌿. The PON I used is from my friend @camsplantss 🩵🩵 #soilless #monstera #houseplants #tipsandtricks #fyp

No aesthetics. No perfect lighting. No flattering angles. Just real plant work. Today I repotted and refreshed 4 Monstera Thai Constellations and 1 regular Monstera. Full root checks, fresh substrate, proper backfilling and upgrading each one to 24” D-shape moss poles with the handmade Elevate blend from @Britney’s Urban Oasis 🌱 This is the unglamorous part people don’t usually show: measuring pole depth, stabilizing the crown, filling slowly so roots aren’t crushed, adjusting as I go, and setting everything up for long term vertical growth instead of quick aesthetics. Halfway through, Willow came in to micromanage, inspect my work and provide moral support. Quality control was performed 🐾 Music in order (used for entertainment only): 🎵 My Propeller by Arctic Monkeys 🎵 Howlin’ For You by The Black Keys 🎵 Girl All The Bad Guys Want by Bowling For Soup 🎵 She’s Thunderstorms by Arctic Monkeys 🎵 Black Betty by Ram Jam 🎵 Fever by The Black Keys 🎵 Sugar Youth by Green Day This is what caring for plants actually looks like. Messy hair. Dirty hands. Soil everywhere. No shortcuts, no trends just doing it right so these monsteras can thrive for years, not weeks. All music belongs to the respective artists. I do not own the rights to these songs. #monstera #houseplants #mosspole #plantsoftiktok #fyp
