I’m mentally exhausted. I’m angry. And I’m tired of feeling like we keep living through the same story over and over again. The Nolan Wells case has left me with anger, frustration, and so many questions. Another young Black life is gone, and once again, a family is left searching for answers while the rest of us are expected to simply accept the outcome and move on. For me, this goes beyond one case. It brings up the painful history of what Black people in this country have endured and why so many of us struggle to trust systems that have not always protected us equally. I’m pissed. I’m tired. And today, I’m not interested in debating how I feel about it. So please do NOT come into my comments dismissing my frustration, disrespecting Nolan or his family, or trying to provoke an argument.
