Reclaiming yourself is one thing. Building momentum with what you reclaimed is another. 💜 And momentum doesn’t always come with a big announcement. Sometimes it looks like writing one page. Sending one email. Keeping one promise to yourself. Setting one boundary. Trying again today even though yesterday didn’t go the way you planned. Small moves stack. So stop measuring yourself only by how far you have left to go. Look at what’s already moving—and protect it. Your time. Your energy. Your peace. Your progress. What are you building momentum in right now? Drop your word below. 👇🏾 #WordUpWednesday #Momentum #BlackLesbianCommunity #LesbianingInColor #KeepMoving

Some people have had access to you for so long, they forgot it was a privilege—not a permanent subscription. History doesn’t equal permission. Familiarity doesn’t equal access. And loving somebody does not require you to be endlessly available to them. You are allowed to change the boundaries. You can answer less. Share less. Give less of your emotional labor. Protect your body. Protect your creativity. Protect your time. Protect your damn peace. 🌿 And you don’t have to make somebody the villain to decide they no longer get the same version of you they used to. So, for this #TherapyishThursday: What kind of access are you becoming more intentional about protecting? 💚 Your time 🤎 Your energy 💚 Your emotions 🤎 Your body 💚 Your creativity 🤎 Your peace #LesbianingInColor #TherapyishThursday #HealthyBoundaries #ProtectYourPeace

Unpopular opinion: I think Macklemore was wrong for what he did to Ed Sheeran. And before somebody intentionally misunderstands me—I'm not talking about whether Macklemore has the right to say “Free Palestine.” He absolutely has the right to use HIS platform to speak about whatever he believes in. My issue is whose platform he chose to use. Ed Sheeran invited Macklemore onto HIS tour. His stage. His audience. His production. Something Ed and hundreds of other people worked to build. Macklemore knew Ed has deliberately tried to keep his shows politically neutral. He also knew exactly how much larger the audience was because it was Ed Sheeran's audience. In fact, Macklemore has acknowledged that being able to speak in stadiums that size was part of the appeal. That's where I have a problem. Because there's a difference between being willing to accept the consequences of your activism and making somebody ELSE absorb those consequences with you. Macklemore gets to say, “If it costs me the stage, so be it.” Okay. But it didn't only cost HIM the stage. It disrupted somebody else's tour. Venues threatened not to host shows. Other artists pulled out. Fans got involved. And suddenly Ed Sheeran—the person who gave Macklemore access to this enormous audience in the first place—is catching hell because he doesn't want his tour turned into a political battleground. I don't think that's fair. You can agree with Macklemore's message and still question the way he used someone else's platform to deliver it. And I think that's the part getting lost. Sometimes standing ten toes down on your principles means doing it on YOUR ten toes—not borrowing somebody else's shoes and then being mad when they don't want to walk where you're going. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I said it. #Macklemore #EdSheeran #EdSheeranTour #FreePalestine #CelebrityActivism
