Kia ora Papas Tiktok whānau, @Sharne Phillips here. It saddens me so much to bring you all this update. Our Pāpā Jimmy Kingi gained his wings today at 12.30pm. He fought a good fight and passed peacefully in his home surrounded by so much love and all his whānau. Loving husband of Erita. Devoted father to Patrick, Arron, Misa and Roydon. Bestest Papa to James and Sharne, Mahaki, Maia, Kahurangi Haami, Thomas, Paris, Wharehuia,Tuterangiwhiu, Manaaki, and Azaria. Papa koro to Te Rawhiti and our puku pēpi still to arrive. Tangi details. Pāpā will lie at his home 501 Thames Coast Road, Te Puru from 9am tomorrow. Early Monday 13th November we will travel to Kauaetangohia Marae Whangaparaoa Cape Runaway Nehu Tuesday 14th at Te Kuaha urupa. All are welcome to come celebrate Pāpā's life with us. Chur whānau, Where to even start. These last 2 weeks have been the worst of my life. I can't even begin to describe the pain and heart break I feel. I just want to say though that I appreciate each and everyone of you on this platform for showing love, kindness, and comfort towards our whānau over this hard time. Our Papa was truly loved by you all, and it really did show in all the messages and koha we received. For now I'm going to take some time away from Tiktok. I need to go and heal and be with my whānau. We are also still awaiting the arrival of my son who's due date is today, so no doubt he will bring a new beautiful energy to our whare. Replying to @jaydenjaze_ Monday 13th November 2023 7am leave Te Puru 12pm break at Tirohanga 12.45pm depart for Tōrere 1pm arrive @ Tōrere Marae 2pm depart Tōrere 4pm arrive @ Whangaparaoa - Kauaetangohia Marae Tuesday 14th November Nehu 11am PLEASE NOTE We have been informed there is another tūpāpaku(body)/whanaunga who is also laying at Kauaetangohia Marae so we will be sharing the space with them. Unfortunately this means we may not be able to go TIKTOK live as originally anticipated, due to their privacy. Jim Kingi will be travelling on a Te Korowai Hauora O Hauraki branded van, followed closely behind by his convoy. We'll be making our way through Thames > Paeroa > Tauranga > Matata > Whakatane > Ohope > Opotiki Due to time restrictions our only planned break stop will be in Tirohanga before heading into Tōrere then on to Te Whanau A Apanui whenua. Papas Tiktok whānau was a huge part of our whānau so we would like to include you all as much as possible. firstly thank you all for your beautiful messages - there is just way too many to reply to so please accept this as our gratitude to you all. secondly we invite anyone to come to our whare to pay their respects to Papa. we'll have him at his whare 501 Thames Coast Road, Te Puru until Monday morning. On Monday we will return him back to his whenua in Te Whanau A Apanui - Kauaetangohia Marae where he will lay for the night before his nehu on Tuesday. Thirdly (depending how reception is) we'll try go live for karakia, poroporoaki, and nehu 🤞 Koha details will be posted in the comments and in James bio (on his main page). I'm gonna start off by saying Thank you all for Loving Our Pāpā. I'm so blessed you got to see a glimpse of the amazing man Jim Kingi is. Our Pāpā is fighting, possibly his final fight.
