A repost from @Kennedy Uzoma (Facebook) Long ago, in Igbo land, there lived a masquerade unlike any other. He was called Ijele, a towering symbol of greatness, culture, and ancestral pride. Whenever Ijele appeared, the drums would speak before he did. The sound of the Ekwe and Ogele would fill the air, announcing his arrival. Children would run with excitement, elders would watch with pride, and the entire community would gather. #IgboMasquerades#OjaFlute#Ogene#Mmanwu#Nigerian _ Tag @igbomasquerades or hashtag so we can showcase your masquerade experience.
