Mine came after a clinical rotation with my instructor in an assisted living facility 🩺💊👵🏻👴🏼 when I went to check an AM routine BS for the floor nurse before med pass and found my pt unresponsive, cold, and snoring loudly. 😱😳 🏃🏼‍♀️I grabbed my instructor, told her I had a weird feeling, and she called the charge over to assess. Charge dismissed her concern.. my instructor told me to write everything down as I witnessed it happening. 🤓 I didn’t have a notepad so I wrote on my arm (timestamps, v/s, interventions, who I reported to, ect). 😅 BS was 32 🩸 and she had aspirated in her sleep. 🥺 Emergency protocols took place, EMS 🚑 called for transport and charge cussed me out in front of EMS and my instructor saying I was a liar and she was never notified of this pt. 😬 🧐 EMS grabbed my arm and started reading my notes and asked charge to leave the room. 🤨 🫣 Never be afraid to trust your gut! 🙂‍↕️ ✍️ Document, document, document!
