Styling my 10 year old locs into a crown without a hair tie. This style is ✨Tehuana inspired✨ and I’ve been doing variations of it for years, whether my hair was loose natural, braided, or loc’d. I am from San Antonio, Texas so I grew up around women that created different variations of braided crown styles for celebrations (most notably Fiesta) coupling that with traditional Mexican dresses and sandals or boots. For my variation, I cornrow or flat twist my hair from the back of my head to the front and then tuck the braids into each other. Each time I do the style it comes out a little different because I never quite wrap the braids the same. Because my locs are semi-freeform and pretty thick, tucking the braids into each other is easy. The weight and tension holds it in place. I can wear my hair like this for days at a time before I feel a need to take it down. I also love this style because it ✨looks✨ complicated but it’s not. It takes maybe 5 minutes to do and you don’t have to be amazing at braiding to do it. Again if you can’t cornrow then flat twist it. Impact is the same. #semifreeformlocs #locstyles #womenwithlocs #crownhair #tehuana

I spent a few days in Cancun playing with the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P, and these are my favorite features so far for this vlog camera. First off, obviously the dual camera! Hitting a button and getting 3x zoom is a welcome upgrade from the OP3. This will take my vlogs to the next level, allowing me to get a variety of shots easily. Second, true D-log. OP4P has two options: D-log 1 and D-log 2. The latter has 17 stops of dynamic range. Just throwing this footage into Premiere and playing around with color was crazy. I’m so excited to experiment with more color correction and grading with this camera, but also just throwing a REC709 conversion on it and it looks so good. Finally, the tracking upgrades are noticeable. Truth be told, I rarely used tracking with the OP3, but the upgraded capabilities are giving me a lot of new ideas for more cinematic vlogs even when filming alone. OP4P is a solid upgrade, but as I keep playing with this camera, I’ll keep sharing what’s working and could use improvement. Toodles y’all!
