Tens of thousands of people took to the streets after the eviction of an 87-year-old woman from her home. Another injustice of this housing crisis fueled by ultra-rich investors. But people refused to look away and shut up. They showed up for each other and forced their government to listen. This is what the power of mobilisation looks like. Citizens who hold their politicians accountable are the most important force of a democracy. 📽 @Nicu Ștefănuță #Madrid #Maricarmen #HousingCrisis #Democracy #Europe

Over 100 million people with #disabilities live in #Europe. Parents, children, employees, customers, taxpayers. Last week, hundreds of people with disabilities demonstrated in Brussels for better self-determination, participation, and #inclusion. Too often, the discussion is about how expensive #accessibility and inclusion are. But we never talk about what exclusion costs. Or how accessibility and inclusion benefit everyone, even people without disabilities. Everyone deserves equal access to society, public spaces, services, opportunities, #freedom. A Europe that's more accessible and inclusive is a better place to live for all citizens. 📽 @Katrin Langensiepen

Maricarmen Abascal showed the world the importance of fighting for dignity and the right to a home. We will not forget her important lessons. Maricarmen vive, la lucha sigue. ✊️ #maricarmen #Madrid #housingcrisis #stopevictions #humanright
