He had 17 years of teaching behind him in the UK, then gave it up to start over in Buenos Aires. Meet Laurie. After nearly two decades in British schools and colleges, he wanted a recognised TEFL certification to teach English abroad. The cheaper option was an online TEFL course back home, but he kept coming back to one question: would it actually help him get hired in Argentina? So he chose in-person TEFL training at Buenos Aires TEFL Institute instead. He finished his UK contract, started working on his Spanish, turned down teaching offers back home, and committed fully to the move. The in-person course gave him what an online certificate couldn't: real classroom preparation for teaching English as a foreign language, plus personalised recommendations and direct connections to local employers from Academic Director Prof. Florencia Bozzano. Today, Laurie is a TEFL-qualified English teacher living and working in Buenos Aires, building a whole new career in the city he fell for. In his words, it's "testing, and fulfilling." 💫 Wondering if an in-person TEFL course is worth it over an online one, or whether it's too late for a career change? Laurie's answer is a pretty clear yes, and no. 👉 Ready to teach English in Buenos Aires? Check out for programs. #TeachAbroad #TEFL #TEFLCertification

What does the green check on GoAbroad mean? ✅ The green check means an organization has met GoAbroad’s verification standards. GoAbroad’s verification system looks at basic business signals such as business registration, responsiveness, professional affiliations, and verifiable participant feedback. Why does that matter? When you’re comparing study abroad, intern abroad, volunteer abroad, teach abroad, or other programs abroad, the green check gives you another trust signal to look for. Then check the ratings and participant reviews to learn more about what past travelers actually experienced. Look for the green check when browsing programs on GoAbroad.com 🌍 #StudyAbroad #ProgramsAbroad #goabroad
