A lot has changed for me the last 2 years since I’ve left teaching. It’s still hands down the hardest but BEST decision I’ve made and I haven’t looked back. It was around this time of year that I left, and I always reflect and am just SO grateful to have landed that first role to get me out. My life isn’t perfect or easy but I am SO much more physically, mentally and emotionally present with my family. I knew I didn’t want to have children while I was still teaching because I was hardly present for my husband and dog at the time. It sounds silly but it’s true. I’ve been blessed with not only more time for myself and family, but also opportunities for career growth and income WITHOUT the stress. I’m cared for and valued at my job, and after the birth of my child, I was able to take my maternity leave and enjoy my baby without having to worry about work. I just left work one day, and then had my baby, and my workplace has been so respectful of my time with my baby. I’ve been able to do a lot more fun things with my husband and grow in our relationship. I’ve become a better wife, partner, and friend. It is insane how debilitating stress and toxic work conditions are, and that leaders just ignore it or joke about it. I’m SO thankful for the energy I have and the life I’m able to build. #formerteacher #teacherquittok #newmom

DILT on materbity leave part 4(i think😂) I spent $4 😂 I’m trying to take little breaks for myself every so often to do things I enjoy. This whole trip took me a little less than an hour and it was so nice! #newmom #formerteacher #postpartum
