Many of you have tagged us in the viral video of a Black woman in labour being ignored by her health care professional. Many Black women are feeling unsettled or triggered right now. It’s completely understandable. If you are currently pregnant, your feelings are real, reasonable, and worthy of care. You don’t have to push them aside or “be strong” right now. Videos like that show why our work is needed, but they should never be the thing that shapes your expectations of birth.
