Aimee had never worked with terracotta before, let alone the handmade irregular shape of these gorg tiles! It’s a lengthy process of dusting, sealing, sorting, laying, careful grouting and sealing again…but Aimee only went and smashed it 💪 What a hero. Never known magic quite like this. ❤️ This week we reached the third trimester. The last stretch before we meet our little one 🥹 Somehow, as we’re finally nearing the end of this renovation, we’re also about to embark on our biggest project yet. So when Aimee finally got the kitchen floor down, we took a little moment together to celebrate and take stock of how much is changing all at once. Been a long time wishing. Ad | We just returned from the most special few nights away in Deal, Kent - for our little babymoon. 🩷 We stayed at Rogues Cottage Deal , a dog-friendly coastal retreat just a pebble’s throw from the seafront and a gentle meander to the high street, filled with excellent independent shops, coffee spots, restaurants and wine bars. Deal is a foodie lover’s dream. We made our way between The Rose, Climpsons, The Zetland and Updown Farmhouse for some delicious eats. We were lucky enough to have the most glorious September weather, spending the rest of our time doing very little beyond napping and chatting on the beach in the sunshine. 🌞 After months in the thick of house renovations, it was such a welcome change in pace to simply enjoy a few days together, embracing the quiet life before we enter our parenthood era. 🫣 We were drawn to Rogues Cottage because of its stunning interiors, from the vibrant paint colours and wallpapers to the gorgeous textiles, antiques and thoughtful details throughout. It’s the very definition of a cosy coastal cottage, with everything you could possibly need for a romantic little escape, pooch in tow. 🐾 Inside, there’s an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, a well-equipped kitchen, dining nook and secluded garden. Upstairs, two spacious bedrooms are spread across two floors, alongside a statement bathroom with a copper tub and rainfall shower. We also discovered it’s family friendly, complete with travel cot - so we could plan a little return visit once baby has arrived! A few days of sea air, good food, sunshine and absolutely no DIY…just what we both needed.
