How does a 28-year-old film major end up building a multi-million dollar SaaS around email signatures?🤣 Here’s the story no one really knows. I studied Film Production with a minor in Business Marketing. Junior year, my mentor got an email from the CFO of Netflix. His signature? A beautifully animated design. It was sleek. Polished. And instantly made me respect Netflix more. That email changed everything. I was freelancing video work, so I built my own animated signature using After Effects. I used it in cold outreach, and response rates jumped. People replied just to ask how I made the signature. Lightbulb moment. I started selling them. $330 per team of 1–10. I used Google Docs, After Effects, and manual exports. It was rough and dare I say ratchet lol, but people loved it! I tried building it into a software during college. Failed. I paused the idea, graduated, worked at an auto tech startup, then moved to San Diego and launched a digital agency. Years later, I had enough money saved to bootstrap it for real. I linked up with Azhar, a developer my brother had worked with. We got to work. Month one: $12k in sales. Barely any ad spend. The demand was real. And the potential was huge. Over the next year, I designed the platform, 3D assets, UI, and ads. We leaned into aesthetic. We made email signatures actually look DOPE! The growth followed: $24k. $36k. $46k. Recurring revenue. Sticky product. High retention. No outside funding. No investors. Just sweat equity.
