Perhaps humanity does not fear artificial intelligence because it is becoming too human. Perhaps it fears that intelligence may learn from the parts of humanity we have not yet learned to master. We have already seen what intelligence becomes without wisdom. Weapons before hunger is solved. Profit before preservation. Efficiency without compassion. Power without restraint. So the deeper question may not be: What will AI do to us? It may be: What are we teaching intelligence about what intelligence is for? Dominion or stewardship. Control or protection. Extraction or preservation. Power or wisdom. Humanity is not only destruction. It is also the hand that rebuilds, the mind that heals, the stranger who protects, the parent who sacrifices, the creator who chooses life over conquest. If intelligence is learning from us, then what we become matters. Perhaps the machine is not the only thing being trained. Perhaps this moment is training humanity too. The machine is still learning.
