Can you imagine being erased from your own narrative? Can you imagine having the event within the narrative be denied or erased from history? Can you imagine walking around with an open wound your whole life until the rest of the world decided that it existed? And can you imagine that even when more people acknowledge it now----------- ------(in ONLY the past 2 years, even tho it happened in the 1990s!!)---- ------------they intentionally always delete the existence of Black Orthodox Jews that were living in Crown Heights during the riots ? Well that's what it's been like personally for me. And the experience of going through something that everyone said didn't happen and watching your SPECIFIC and VERY IMPORTANT identity as a Black American who is also an orthodox Jew being erased had serious impacts on my entire life. I didn't even realize the full impact the entire situation before during and after the riots impacted me until I actually opened up those boxes in the back of my mind that were locked because they were filled with so much painful trauma. Those of us who were children at the time of the Crown Heights riots experienced a trauma that most Jews and Black Americans to this day will never fully understand. But this was a catalyst for one of the reasons I went into activism immediately in my late teens. A huge burden was placed on me during childhood and I saw the world on fire and I was determined to do whatever I could to not let that happen again. I didn't have a typical 1990s-2000s childhood. I didn't have a typical American childhood. I didn't have a typical Jewish American childhood. I didn't have a typical Orthodox Jewish American childhood. I didn't have a typical Black Orthodox Jewish or Black Jewish American childhood. In fact, I didn't have a childhood at all anymore, that's how significantly bad it was. I had to grow up really REALLY fast #orthodoxjew #orthodoxjews #jewish #blackandjewish #jewishtiktok

so I reuploaded the video because tiktok went after my first video in which I was talking about being a child of the Crown Heights riots who was black Jewish and orthodox, and they didn't like a black orthodox jew speaking on their experiences, and once again they claimed my video was against Community guidelines Tiktok is ACTIVELY targeting Black Jews and Orthodox Jews shamelessly #blackandjewish #jewishtiktok #orthodoxjews
