Today, I led the TMA to engage private-sector stakeholders as part of our ongoing efforts to build stronger partnerships for the development of Tema. The engagement provided an opportunity for each organisation represented to present its portfolio, share the challenges affecting its operations, and identify areas where stronger collaboration with the Assembly can improve outcomes. The message was clear: the growth of Tema must create value for the city and its people. We need businesses to meet their local obligations, create opportunities for Tema residents where the skills are available, and direct their corporate social responsibility towards the communities where they operate. In return, the Assembly remains committed to fair and transparent rating, accurate billing, easier digital payments and visible use of local revenue. Development works best when responsibility is shared. Together, we can build a stronger Tema. #JMLegacy #EbiBright #TemaRising #GreaterTema #PrivateSector

Beyond the roundtable stakeholder engagements, my team and I paid working visits to MPS, Pioneer Food Cannery Ltd., and Multi Pac Ltd. as part of efforts to build a sustainable working relationship between the Assembly and industry. Road network challenges and trucks parking on the shoulders of the roads, affecting service delivery, were among the issues discussed extensively across all three visits. I also tabled my concerns about the poor CSR relationship between the Assembly and organizations within the Metropolis, which has not benefited the residents of Tema in any desirable way. It is our mandate as an Assembly to establish partnerships that will bring development to the people who host the industrial sector. As an assurance, I stated that the TMA is in full swing to address the major road infrastructure, sewage, security, nuisance, compliance, and other utility challenges affecting both industry and residents. These efforts are aimed not only at improving service delivery within the Metropolis but also at giving Tema the representation it deserves on the global front as an industrial hub and port city at the centre of the world. #partnership #TMA #JM

Following our stakeholder engagements with companies and agencies in Tema, I took the conversation further by visiting MPS, Pioneer Foods and Multipack as part of our industrial visits’ initiative. These visits were enlightening, giving me a clearer understanding of the issues raised during our engagements and a deeper appreciation of the companies’ contributions to Tema’s growth. At all three companies, I emphasised the need to prioritise Tema in their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects. Through discussions with the Tema Metropolitan Assembly, we can align these investments with local development priorities and ensure they deliver meaningful benefits to our communities. Together, we can build stronger partnerships for a better Tema. #MPS #Pioneerfoods #Multipack
