Sweating through your shirt even on a cold day? You’re not alone - and it’s not a hygiene problem 💧 Aluminium chloride works differently to your normal deodorant. It forms a gel plug in the exit of your sweat glands, so the sweat can’t get out - and the glands slow down. How to apply it: 1. Use it at night, before bed 2. Make sure your armpits are completely dry - not straight after a shower 3. Avoid shaving for 24 hours before and after applying 4. Apply a thin layer and let it dry fully 5. Wash it off in the morning 6. Use it every night until things improve, then cut down to once or twice a week It can sting or itch at first. If it does, use it less often. Don’t put it on broken or irritated skin, and speak to your pharmacist if it keeps bothering you. See your GP if your sweating is getting worse, is all over your body, happens at night, or comes with weight loss you can’t explain. Like this if it helped, comment your questions below, and share it with someone who’s been living in black t-shirts 👕 #hyperhidrosis #excessivesweating #sweating #gptips #drsarfo

Is snacking secretly sabotaging your blood sugar? 🍪📈 Every time you snack, your body releases insulin to deal with the sugar. Snack all day and your insulin never gets a break - and over time your body can start to ignore it. That's insulin resistance, the road to type 2 diabetes. It's not about never snacking. It's about snacking smarter: ✅ Pair carbs with protein or healthy fats (apple + peanut butter, crackers + cheese) ✅ Go for nuts, Greek yoghurt, boiled eggs or veg sticks with hummus ✅ Watch the "healthy" traps - fruit juices, granola bars, flavoured yoghurts ✅ Ask yourself: am I hungry, or just bored? Small swaps, big difference. Your pancreas will thank you 🙌 Already have diabetes or prediabetes? Chat to your GP or practice nurse about what works for you. #drsarfo #diabetes #type2diabetes #bloodsugar #healthysnacks

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - so let's talk about the changes every woman should know. Most people only check for lumps. But breast cancer can also show up as: ✔️ A lump or swelling in your armpit ✔️ Dimpling or orange-peel skin ✔️ A nipple that's pulled in, leaking or crusty ✔️ A change in size or shape The good news? Most breast changes are NOT cancer. But the only way to know is to get checked - and you're never wasting your GP's time. Know your normal, so you notice your new. Everything here is guideline based (NICE) - swipe through to see what we look for as GPs 👉 Save this for later, share it with a woman you love, and drop a 🎀 in the comments if you learned something new. General information, not personal medical advice. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BreastCancerAwareness #WomensHealth #KnowYourNormal #drsarfo
