CoolSculpting is a procedure that some patients opt for to target excess fat that has posed as a challenge to rid of when using diet and exercise. Recently Linda Evangelista had a major problem with the outcome of the procedure when it left her with some deformities. Often times I have patients ask me about scarring and the factors that determine the outcome of a good scar vs. a bad scar. The first and main component is surgical technique. Secondly, I always have patients apply a silicone based topical treatment called Biocorneum. Consistently applying this daily up until a few months after surgery can help with flattening and fading the scar. And lastly, the other factor I tell patients to consider is genetics.
