Black and Hispanic Americans represent approximately $4.8 trillion in combined reported consumer buying power in the United States. Let that sink in. 📊 $2.7 trillion — Hispanic consumer purchasing power. 📊 $2.1 trillion — Black consumer purchasing power. Together, these communities represent an extraordinary force in the American marketplace. We purchase homes, vehicles, technology, financial services, energy, and consumer products. We establish businesses, employ Americans, develop innovations, and contribute to economic growth. Yet when it comes to venture capital, institutional investment, business ownership, and access to financing, the picture looks very different. Consider this: * Latino-founded companies reportedly received just 1.88% of U.S. venture capital deal value in 2025. * Hispanic and Latino professionals represented approximately 6% of venture capital investment partners in 2024. * Research cited by Bain found that Latinx-owned businesses accounted for approximately half of net new U.S. small-business creation between 2007 and 2017, while receiving roughly 1% of investment from the top 25 VC and PE firms in its analysis. We are recognized as consumers. But are we equally recognized as founders, innovators, executives, and owners? As a Hispanic entrepreneur, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and founder of businesses operating across technology, energy, infrastructure, and finance, I’ve experienced the challenges of accessing institutional capital firsthand. Through RDE Group and BROWNTECH, I believe there is an opportunity to help bridge the gap between economic influence and business ownership. This is not about asking for preferential treatment. It’s about recognizing talent, commercial opportunity, and the economic potential of communities that have helped build America. Imagine what could happen if more of that purchasing power translated into business formation, ownership, investment, and generational wealth. We don’t just participate in the American economy. We help build it. And perhaps it’s time the investment community recognized that. 🇺🇸 🇩🇴 🇵🇷 #EconomicDevelopment #BlackEntrepreneurs #HispanicEntrepreneurs #VentureCapital #CapitalMarkets
