Is Your Shoulder Pain Something to Worry About? 🧠⚾️ If you’re a baseball player or just lifting overhead hurts… Here’s a quick self-check for subacromial impingement ⬇️ 1️⃣ Raise your up. Pain in the middle? 🚫 Not good. 2️⃣ Palm out, pinky lifts up. Front shoulder pain? 🚫 Also not good. 3️⃣ Stabilize your shoulder, rotate downward. Front shoulder pain? 🚫 Bad sign. Back of shoulder pain? 👍 Not always bad. 4️⃣ Arm slightly forward, lift it against resistance. Pain in front = 🚨 5️⃣ Arm at 45°, push up. Pain again? That’s 3 strikes… 6️⃣ Form an “L”, resist pushing out. Pain in front = 🚫 These are clinical signs of rotator cuff involvement or impingement. If the front of your shoulder lights up during any of these… 👉 DM me “impingement” and I’ll guide you through what to do next. @Coach Bougie ⚾️

We get that a lot. “My elbow hurts.” I always follow up with “where?” And most struggle to tell me exactly where it hurts. The ability to localize your own problem is a world of its own. But there are locations of pain that you need to keep your eye out for as some athletes are able to tell me exactly where the problem is. This one is known as “Little League Elbow.” Medial Epicondyle Apophysitis, let’s break that down. Medial epicondyle is a landmark on your humerus where the flexor pronator muscle group originates from. Apophysitis is a terms defining inflammation and stress injury where a muscle and its tendon attaches to a growth plate on a child/adolescent. ___ Struggling with this? Or your son is? DM me “help” and let’s work together 💪 #Baseball #physicaltherapy #armcare #pitching #littleleagueelbow @Bobby O’Neill
