POV: You walk into the store “just to grab one thing” and end up checking your shelf like it’s one of your children. 😂 Fully stocked. Labels facing forward. Nobody hiding in the back. It’s a Goode day. #grocery #smallbusiness #food

Getting invited down to Wall Street at Yahoo Finance’s headquarters was surreal. But it almost didn’t happen… I was supposed to be in New York during that wild ice storm back in February. Every inbound flight got canceled. The entire Yahoo building shut down. At that point, I figured the interview was off. Power was out overnight. The team was working to get everything back up the next morning so we pivoted to doing it virtually. That moment right there taught me something real: Opportunities don’t always show up clean. Sometimes they show up in chaos, delays and last-minute pivots. And if you’re not willing to adjust, you miss it. What’s even crazier is this came right after a couple posts went viral during our Thanksgiving cranberry sauce battle with the top dog in the industry. (If you know you know) No big campaign. No PR team. Just consistency. You keep showing up long enough, and eventually the room starts to notice. People might say I sound like a broken record, but I’ll say it again: This one is for Pops! The original founder of this company. He would’ve been packed the night before, ready to go to NYC like it was his moment too. Grateful for the opportunity. Humbled by the journey. It’s been a lot of small wins and lot of small losses. But if the outcome is income, then I know I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. Curious—have you ever had an opportunity almost fall through, then work out anyway? Watch the full interview on yahoo finance’s YouTube channel 😎 #legacy #familybusiness

This week, I sat down in D.C. with the legendary Roland Martin to talk about the Goode Foods journey—how we’re constantly pitching to every major retailer in the country, and why the shelves we’re on today belong to the ones who truly support emerging family-owned brands and agree to terms that set us up for long-term success. Those partnerships aren’t just about shelf space—they’re about shared vision, mutual respect, and building something Goode together. #legacy #familybusiness #succession #rolandmartin
