This patient’s Basal Cell Carcinoma was treated with Mohs micrographic surgery, the gold standard for precision skin cancer removal. With its precise, layer-by-layer approach, Mohs allows us to remove all cancerous cells while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible. The result? A large hole in the nose (not pictured, too graphic) with margins clear of cancer. In the same session I performed an intricate reconstruction consisting of an multilobed transposition flap that resulted in minimal scarring, and a confident patient.
