🍂🌳 A shady, space-themed playground hidden in the woods?! This was such a cute fall-find in Wethersfield 🤎 Mill Woods Park is HUGE, so big that we almost missed the playground! It’s tucked toward the back left corner, near the skate park and back parking lot. Surrounded by tons of trees, with a nice breeze and colorful leaves falling all around, it felt like the perfect playground to find for a fall day! There are swings, climbing structures, and plenty of room to explore. (It isn’t fenced in at all but it’s set back from the rest of the park and the parking lot, there’s a lot of extra grass to run around outside the playscape before you get to the lot, but no fence!) There’s also so much more to do here, including basketball and tennis courts, bocce courts, a skate park, sports fields, walking trails, picnic pavilions, a dog park, and a swimming pond with a beach and lifeguards in the summer! 🎃 The 2026-2027 CT Kids Passport is HERE! We spent Sunday at the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford celebrating the launch of their new passport year at their Spooktacular Launch Party! 👻 The entire Science Center was filled with trick-or-treating, local businesses, face painting, giveaways, and so many hands-on activities for kids! We had so much fun exploring everything, and I wanted to share 5 of our favorite interactive experiences from the event! 🧡 🌈 1. Rainbow Station had an adorable DIY keychain-making station where kids could create their own personalized keepsakes 🐮 Oak Ridge Dairy Farm & Moozy Milk brought a spin-to-win prize wheel with some really fun giveaways 🎨 My Little Sprigs had a creative space filled with coloring tables, fall crafts, and different activities for little hands! 🦋 Yuchi on Wheels brought face painting to the celebration, (sponsored by Goldfish Swim School!) 📸 Union Savings Bank sponsored a Halloween photo booth where families could take home keepsake photos! RSCO (Greater Hartford Regional School Choice Office) was also there, sponsoring Halloween crafts and sharing information about school choice opportunities for local families! And of course, there were some special visitors, including Marshall from PAW Patrol! 🐾 So what exactly is CT Kids Passport? 📖 It’s a fun way for Connecticut families to discover new places while saving money! The passport features participating museums, farms, play spaces, attractions, and local businesses offering exclusive discounts and perks. 🍁🌳Another cute Connecticut park find! Great Hill Park in Haddam is such a nice spot to spend a fall afternoon ☀️ The playground is a great size, with lots of room to run around and explore! One of my favorite things was the older-school seesaw, something you don’t see at too many playgrounds anymore! 🛝 The park itself is huge, with soccer fields, walking trails, and lots of open space. We packed a lunch and found a shady spot at one of the picnic tables under the big trees, which made for such a nice little afternoon together! 🧺🍂 The playground itself is mostly sunny and isn’t fenced in, but it’s surrounded by woods in the back, with a soccer field separating it from the parking lot in the front.
