A COIN FLIP OF FATE Okay… Dad screwed up. 😂 I spent hours making a video to help raise money for our 4-year-old Stage IV cancer warrior, Declan, and hopefully make one of his biggest wishes come true. Then I realized… This is a MASSIVE ask. And if we’re going to make a dream this big happen, Declan needs the best. So apparently… this is a buddy comedy. 😂 Declan LOVES Justin “Danger” Nunley. But he also loves Shawn Umscheid. So, naturally… Dad needs BOTH OF THEM. 😂🔥 And honestly? I need your help getting this in front of them. ❤️ Because this isn’t just about a kid wanting to meet two guys he thinks are awesome. It’s about giving a 4-year-old warrior something cancer can’t take away: A dream. An adventure. A memory. A damn good day. 🌌❤️ And if we can make that happen? Dad might finally get one right. 😂 But here’s why this matters so damn much. We’ve been given brutal odds. Based on what we’ve been told, Declan’s chances of reaching his 8th birthday are around 20–30%. And those are the best odds we may ever get. The risk changes as time goes on, and only a small number of children with Stage IV fusion-negative rhabdomyosarcoma make it to adulthood. So we’ve made a choice. We’re going to make his dreams come true. We’re going to fill his life with as much joy, adventure, laughter, and love as we possibly can for whatever time we’re given. Because Declan isn’t a statistic. He’s stubborn. He’s hilarious. He’s a warrior. And he still wants to experience the universe. 🌌 His biggest wish? To meet Justin “Danger” Nunley and Shawn Umscheid, and ring his cancer bell with them. 🔔🏍️ That would be freaking legendary. 🔥 Danger and Shaun there’s a 4-year-old cancer warrior out here who thinks you’re pretty damn awesome. Darkest Shadows Create the Brightest Stars There are organizations that do good work. And then there are organizations that quietly change the way a family survives the impossible. Make-A-Wish Virginia is the latter. When your child is fighting for his life, joy becomes something fragile. Measured in moments. In breaths. In laughter that feels borrowed from tomorrow. What Make-A-Wish does is give those moments back — not as distractions, but as anchors. As proof that wonder still exists even in the middle of fear. They helped make some of Declan’s wishes come true. Not just the big magical ones everyone sees — but the deeper ones too: hope, agency, excitement, light in places that had grown very dark. Watching your child feel powerful again, joyful again, simply a kid again, is a gift beyond language. Today, we were honored to be invited to speak and thank this amazing team at there Virginia retreat. Standing in a room with people who not only walk beside us, but who truly carried us was humbling in a way that stays with you. Gratitude doesn’t feel big enough for what they give. But it’s what we have, and we give it fully. To the team, the volunteers, the donors, the dream-makers — thank you for carrying families like ours when we cannot carry ourselves. Thank you for giving Declan memories that will forever live larger than his illness. Thank you for reminding us that joy is still allowed here.
