Dear Disabled, This @Iman and I am excited to announce my newest passion project Dear Disabled! 🏳️‍🌈🫱🏾‍🫲🏿🏳️‍⚧️ We are a space made for and created by people with intersectional identities. We share a passion in connecting through the similarities within our differences. Finding unity in diversity as a team of anti-ableist, anti-racist, neuroqueer individuals reclaiming the human experience. We are a team made up of patients of color who have a passion for creating community. We are passionate about community care and sharing our collective resources to aid others where they are in their journeys. The huge gap of shared spaces for these identities needs to be filled and we want to begin the process. We deserve space where all these identities can be respected and celebrated, all-encompassing. To our community, from our community, with wholehearted acceptance. Dear Disabled, Today we are excited to share the beautiful meaning behind the @DearDisabled design and introduce you to a member of our wonderful team! art from the heart from @val ❤️ we as a team wanted a name that when read would feel personal. as if receiving a letter addressed to you. we hoped to design art that would invoke that same inviting feeling. to create a love letter that celebrates the intersectionality represented within our community. all brought to reality by our talented artist Val and their creativity. the letter was made in the form of a rainbow. sending love to queer Disabled people everywhere. enclosed in the colors of the trans flag. enveloping our trans community in warmth and love. all on a lavender background symbolizing resistance and empowerment 💜 the love that went into the design came from Val the artist behind it all! “this logo is very dear to me as a biracial queer trans person. I put a little piece of that into each of the elements. For me, art is an accessible way to express myself.
