It’s been a long time since I picked up the bodhrán just for the love of playing. So I threw on a few tunes and did exactly that. 🥁 Learned this dinger 20 years ago when it first came out. I was already teaching a year then and used this tune to help students practise following the rhythm of the musician. Gerry was a master at it. When I was younger, I played for me. That passion is what eventually made music my job, and sometimes it’s easy to forget to enjoy it outside of work. With Sophie chatting away in the background, this is something I want more of at home—music being part of our family life. Something we love and enjoy, without it always needing to be a gig or a lesson. Here’s a bit of tunage from the first kitchen sessions in Monaseed. Doubt this’ll be a thing! 😅 Might… 🎶 “Time to Time” — played by Gerry O’Connor. A quick note on lessons: I haven’t taught privately since 2024. My teaching now is through workshops with primary and secondary schools, language schools and organisations, including team-building events, across Ireland and internationally. Hope you enjoy! 🙌 #Bodhran #IrishMusic #TradMusic #KitchenSessions #IrishTikTok
