Where’s the person I interviewed?” 👀 Salon life has taught me to look past the portfolio. Can you show up on time? Take feedback? Respect the team? Give clients a good experience even when the day gets hectic? And let’s be honest, sometimes we need help so badly that we talk ourselves out of the red flags. I’ve learned that needing someone doesn’t mean everyone is a good fit. I love helping a stylist grow. Tonight the Bronner Brothers show was good for my heart! 💛Being in the room with my peers, seeing familiar faces, and celebrating the talent and legacy of Black hair reminded me why I still love what I do. And having Kennedy with me? That made it even better. 🥹 Getting to introduce her to people I admire and share this part of my world with her means so much. I’ve learned a lot along the way, and I’m grateful I get to help guide her as she finds her own way. I always want her to remember to stay focused and never give up on herself. I’ve had moments when things weren’t coming together how I hoped, but I kept going, so keep learning, keep doing the work, and give yourself time to grow. @Fashion Nova #hair #yellow #cutdifferent So much love for the people who paved the way and opened doors for me.
