Had the pleasure of planning and taking pics for this beautiful proposal. It was amazing! The mountains, the horse, the outfits, and having the family all there made it truly special. This was one of the best proposals I’ve ever had the opportunity to be a part of. Congratulations you two! #proposal #couplesphotos #utahphotographer #weddingphotographer #engagementphotoshoot

Buffalo Peak fall colors update: This video was taken on Sunday, 9/20/26. Buffalo Peak in Provo Canyon is one of those locations that's hiding in plain sight for photographers. The trail itself runs through a massive open meadow with Mt. Timpanogos as the backdrop. It also has a 360-degree view of Utah Valley, Utah Lake, and the surrounding canyon walls. Wildflowers in summer, full color in fall. It photographs differently every time you go. The best time to visit is fall, late September through early October. Everything turns red and gold and Timp in the background goes from green to snow-capped right around the same window. Golden hour is the move here. The popularity of this spot has grown, especially in fall, and the meadow area known as Cascade Meadow is a known destination at this point. However, weekday sessions are noticeably quieter. If you're going on a weekend, be warned that it will be busy. Pro Tip 1: The road up Squaw Peak turns to dirt for a few miles before the trailhead. It's bumpy but totally manageable. You don't need 4WD, but a vehicle with some clearance would be ideal. Low-profile sedans will make it but have a rough time. Take it slow and you'll be fine. Pro Tip 2: Keep an eye out for bighorn sheep on the drive up and on the trail. They're a regular sighting out here and make for an unexpected and genuinely cool addition to a session. Final thoughts: One of the best fall locations in Utah County, and the short hike means your clients show up ready to shoot, not worn out. Where to go: 40.28511° N, 111.60352° W #photography #utahphotographer #weddingphotographer #utah #utahcounty
