Exercise Autumn Forge is a large-scale series of NATO military exercises held primarily in Europe during the Cold War and continuing in various forms afterward. It involved the United States and allied forces conducting coordinated air, land, and naval training to practice reinforcing Europe and responding to a potential Warsaw Pact attack. The exercises tested everything from rapid troop deployments and logistics to armored warfare and air defense, helping NATO maintain readiness and interoperability. Autumn Forge was especially important during the Cold War because it demonstrated NATO’s ability to quickly move large numbers of forces across the Atlantic and integrate them with European armies.#coldwar #nato #military #westgermany #warthunder

audio kind of got messed up//The AC-130 is an American gunship based on the C-130 Hercules, designed to provide close air support and armed overwatch for ground forces. It is operated by the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command and is heavily modified with sensors, communications systems, armor, and side-firing weapons. The AC-130 has been used extensively in conflicts including Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and against ISIS. Modern versions such as the AC-130J Ghostrider use advanced targeting systems and precision-guided weapons, making them much more capable than the original Vietnam-era gunships.#ac130 #angelofdeath #warthunder #military #fighterjet

The Swiss Army during the Cold War was built around the idea of armed neutrality, meaning Switzerland would remain neutral but be prepared to defend itself against an invasion. It maintained a large militia-based military, with most able-bodied men undergoing military training and keeping equipment for rapid mobilization. Switzerland relied heavily on its mountainous terrain, fortified bunkers, artillery positions, and defensive infrastructure, including extensive fortifications in the Alps. Its forces used a mix of domestically produced and foreign equipment, including Hawker Hunter and Dassault Mirage III fighter aircraft, Panzer 68 tanks, and Mowag armored vehicles.#coldwar#swistzerland #nato #warthunder #military
