Sharing my thoughts on the recent Luli concert. The crowd was much bigger this year, which probably affected the access control and entry points. I feel it’s time for the concert to stick more to its core — focusing on the theme and messages rather than long speeches and recognitions. The short moments for the word charge seem to undervalue scripture; I believe a concert should have more time for words that inspire hope and joy. The praise and worship were high quality, though I noticed younger attendees weren’t really into classical chorales. Brother Adedeji did well, and Sister Yinka Erinle’s voice was angelic — always a delight. The Celestial Oldies performed legendary songs, which many still enjoy. Mama Bola Are’s presence is always appreciated, a true veteran. Bola Halleluyah and Seyi Daniel showed talent, but I hope to see more fiery worship that deeply moves the congregation. Omotola Choir was good for a first try and has potential to do even better. El Beracah Choir’s song choices clicked, nice work there. It would be great to see Pelumi Deborah or Mega99 invited in future editions to bring fresh energy. Evangelist Tope Alabi and AUNTY Shola Allyson gave inspiring ministration — music truly has power to connect. Brother Ibukun Oni continues to be a shining example for our youth. The church’s development and influence should go beyond just attending concerts; it’s about transforming lives. Talents from the church should aim higher and deepen their craft. Also, the concert needs to be more inclusive and not overly aligned with one denomination — Lagos is a diverse city. Audience preferences should guide minister selection; high-energy praise and worship are what the current generation prefers. A balanced flow of music is key; once you go high tempo, try to keep it going. Glorious Twins have great potential, and adding a talented artist like Feranmi Golden could push them further. The French choir did well, and inviting Johnny Sourou again would be a good move. Paul Tomisin brought a quiet yet powerful worship vibe, and Lilian Nneji’s Yoruba switch was a highlight that got everyone dancing. Dare Justified’s performance was on point, moving from praise to spiritual consciousness effortlessly. Overall, I’m hopeful LC11 will be even better. Good job, Luli concert!
