Today, together with my dear wife Nonye, my Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, members of the State Executive Council, the House of Assembly, and Ndi Anambra from all walks of life, we gathered at the Cathedral Church of St. Faith, Awka for an interdenominational thanksgiving service to mark Nigeria at 66. As we reflect on 66 years of our nationhood, it reminds us that nation-building is a collective responsibility. It requires our resilience, our sacrifice, and our active participation. True freedom, as Archbishop Alexander Ibezim reminded us in his powerful sermon titled “From Bondage to Freedom, God's Purpose for Nigeria,” is beyond the raising of flags. It is about a people determining their own destiny. And while governments will come and go, Nigeria remains. Yes, we have challenges. The agricultural boom of old has waned, but Nigeria has not failed. Our duty is to bless this country, to speak well of her, and to brighten the corner where we are. For personal integrity is national integrity. As your government, we remain deeply committed to peace, progress and good governance in Anambra. May Nigeria continue to rise, and may Anambra continue to win. God bless Anambra State. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Yesterday, I joined my wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, to host Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, as she launched the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East. This initiative under the Renewed Hope Initiative targets our most vulnerable — widows, the elderly, persons with disabilities, nursing mothers and young children — with food support and nutrition education. It aligns perfectly with our state’s drive to fight poverty, promote sustainable agriculture, and strengthen social safety nets. We also hosted the First Lady to a rousing reception at the Dr Alex Ekwueme square, where the Traditional rulers of Anambra, led by HRM Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Eze Iweka III), conferred a Chieftaincy title on her as the “Ugoeze Anambra”. Alongside this, empowerment grants, vocational tools and agricultural inputs were flagged off for Five thousand beneficiaries across our 21 LGAs. Thank you, Her Excellency, for choosing Anambra to flag off the South-East zone. Together, we are building an Anambra — and a Nigeria — where no one is left behind. May Anambra continue to win!
Yesterday, I joined my brother, the Governor of Ebonyi State — His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru — alongside other progressives in Abakaliki to stand with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. The time has come for us to unite. Enough of the politics of lamentations. Ndi Igbo, we must move from the alliance of protest to the alliance for progress — an alliance for prosperity. We must unite. We must not waste our votes again. Progressives are working together for a renewed and prosperous Nigeria.
Yesterday, I spent productive hours in Nnewi with my team, walking the city and planning its future. We started at the Nnewi roundabout — the mall project abandoned for almost 17 years. We toured the entire space. That ends now. We will convert it into something viable and of real public value within the life of this administration. We moved to the Post Office, Eme Court Road, and the expanse of land between Umudim and Ukpor. I stood at the roundabout and saw it clearly: Nnewi has grown. We must now bring life into it. Nnewi needs an open arena for leisure and relaxation. If you don’t have that, you are not a city. We intend to build a central motor park, green spaces, and a multipurpose outdoor arena right here. Nnewi deserves it. Urban renewal is tough work. It involves demolition. But we are intentional. We did it in Ekwulobia — over 500 houses, 14 petrol stations, even a shrine. We did it for the Anambra of the next generation. What we are doing now should have happened 60 years ago. In the next 10 years, we expect about 35 million people here. We must plan. We must regenerate. We must rescue our cities. Nnewi, we have turned our gaze on you. We will give this city the facelift it deserves. May Anambra continue to win!
Today, we commenced the Anambra State Executive Council Retreat and formally kicked off Solution 2.0: Acceleration With Precision. With the foundations now firmly in place, our priority is disciplined, focused, and results-driven governance. I charged members of the Solution Team 2.0 to begin drafting their valedictory addresses for March 2030 and to work backward from that vision with discipline, urgency, and purpose. Our mission is clear: to build a livable and prosperous smart megacity, lay the foundation for Vision 2070, and deliver high-impact outcomes that meaningfully improve the lives of Ndi Anambra. Government will be judged not by meetings or motions, but by visible progress and measurable results. The time to accelerate with precision is now. May Anambra continue to win!
Today, as we mark the 2026 National Children’s Day, we celebrate our children, the pride of today and the promise of tomorrow. Every child deserves love, quality education, proper care, protection, and the opportunity to fulfil their potential. As a nation, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to building a society where every child, regardless of background, gender, or circumstance of birth, is given the opportunity to thrive. We must continue to strengthen the institutions, policies, and values that uphold the dignity, rights, and well-being of every child, while protecting them from all forms of neglect, abuse, and vulnerability. The future of our society will be shaped by how well we nurture, guide, and invest in our children. In their dreams, talents, and aspirations lies the enduring hope of a stronger, more peaceful, and more prosperous nation. Happy National Children’s Day
This is the Solution 2.0 team. Our job is simple: lay the foundation for a new Anambra that is liveable, prosperous, and secure for every family, trader, and young person. The work ahead is not easy, but it is urgent. We owe it to you to deliver on infrastructure, education, health, security, and a thriving economy where businesses can grow without fear. To Ndi Anambra, thank you for the trust. We will not take it for granted. The work continues. The vision is clear. The future is bright. Anambra is on the rise. And we will rise together.
Security is a collective duty, and today, Anambra’s efforts have received a significant boost. At the Light House, Awka, I received ten brand-new operational vehicles from the Chairman and CEO of Zenco Group of Companies, Mr. Cletus Uzoezie Oragwa, in support of strengthening our security architecture. This generous gesture goes beyond a donation; it is a clear expression of trust, partnership, and commitment to a safer, more secure Anambra. When individuals and organizations rise in support of the common good, it reinforces the truth that building our homeland is a responsibility we all share. I commend Mr. Cletus Uzoezie Oragwa for this thoughtful and patriotic act. I also appreciate Ndi Anambra, who continue to embody this spirit of collective progress through collaboration and partnership. These vehicles will be strategically deployed to reinforce our security operations, as we remain resolute in protecting lives, safeguarding our communities, and sustaining peace across the state. May Anambra continue to win.
I received the Polish Ambassador to Nigeria, Michał Cygan, on a courtesy visit at the Light House, Awka. Ambassador Cygan is in Anambra as the keynote speaker at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University’s 16th Convocation Ceremony, and his visit reflects the growing importance of international dialogue, academic exchange, and strategic cooperation. Our engagement provided an opportunity to showcase Anambra’s vast potential as Nigeria’s premier investment destination. We emphasized the state’s readiness to welcome global private investors, its expanding opportunities across key sectors, and its strong commitment to building sustainable, forward-looking partnerships that will drive growth and development. We remain committed to creating an enabling environment for innovation, enterprise, and productive collaboration. May Anambra continue to win! #viral #anambra #anambraisrising
One week ago, history was made in Anambra State, setting in motion a new phase in its journey toward growth, renewal, and lasting transformation. The journey ahead will require consistency, collaboration, and collective sacrifice. Meaningful development is not achieved overnight, and transforming a state into a smart megacity demands vision, discipline, and sustained execution. The future is not distant; it is already being shaped. May Anambra continue to win!
