Get ready to learn all about inductions because I’m in full blown class prep mode getting ready for our newest Physiologic Birth Class - SPEEDY INDUCTIONS. This class has been brewing in my head for years, especially because so much of what you learn in physiologic birth is applicable to induction, and if we understand the process and opportunities, we can help optimize their body for it to go better, smoother and ideally not take 2+ days. Test your knowledge in the meantime, and check the 🔗 in my bio to sign up for the class #inductionoflabor #laboranddelivery #laboranddeliveryrn

I was recently on a unit where they asked me for help with a pt who’s labor had slowed. The first question I asked was, “What’s the position of the baby?”. Their answer, “vertex!”. While that’s a start, we also need to know the direction baby is facing (OA, OP, OT, etc.) and whether or not the head is flexed (fetal presentation). The less flexed the head, the wider the diameter that has to fit through, creating a slew of issues for labor progress. Swipe to learn why. Our newest FREE resource: Fetal Position Quick Reference Guide is linked 🔗 my the bio! Were you taught to check for presentation beyond vertex? I wasn’t!
