Brad had the idea to install upside down baseboard to the top of our upper cabinets for two reasons - we wanted a bit more detail, but at the same time, we had to use the moulding style we already had in the rest of the room. And, the baseboard gave us a surface to attach the crown moulding into. Win-win! While we were planning our kitchen makeover, I was trying to talk Brad into ripping this entire plate rack cabinet out of the wall. He was not thrilled with this idea and suggested we remove the plate rack pieces, repair the shelves, and install the brick right over the bead board.
