It is nearing Benji’s second gotcha day, doing this trend has really shown me how many of his puppy features he has lost. I am so proud of the dog he has become and the fact that he’s been with me through every high, every low, and every mistake I’ve made along the way of learning how to care for my first dog. He has made me a huge advocate for ethical breeding and shown me that husky mixes are not just loud and Independent ❤️

Hey yall I’ve been a bit MIA with work and school lifes been hectic I wanted to share my session from yesterday, i’ve been working on being more intentional when it comes to my training sessions so, I planned out a bit of what I wanted to practice and shaped my session around it. I’ve been working on my anxiety around Benji being off leash (he has high prey drive) so I started with some recalls while facing away from him more for me than for him. He did amazingly (per usual it’s really just me overthinking things) his weaves are a LOT more fluid and smooth! I briefly worked on bang, a new trick for his trick champion title and it’s coming along pretty well he is starting to distinguish between roll over and bang. Next we worked on his speak command a bit, I’m introducing a new command in which I want him to continuously bark instead of his standard one where he only barks once so I waited till he barked twice without me having to repeat myself to award him. After this, we worked a bit on the beginning of source focus so all I was asking from him, was for him to look at the food that I’m putting on the ground, and when I pull my hand back to not look at my hand, after he looks at the food for maybe half a second I release him lastly with a little bit of fun, fast pace, heeling!
